I hope that when you get around to the origin story of Captain Marvel you will iron some of the wrinkles out of that unique event in Billy’s life.

Mary Batson, as you know, wasn’t introduced into Billy Batson’s adventures until several years after Billy’s books became a best sellers ~ and as a result, they treated her as his long lost sister. But, in as much as Mary’s readers now know Billy has a sister, there is no reason for him to waste time and space having Billy search for her! It’s enough that she is given a small part in his first adventure.

But the part of the evil guardian (Ebenezer Batson) might be enlarged upon, some what, because an evil guardian can contribute more action and drama to the adventures of a couple of helpless kids, than a guardian who simply kicks them out on the streets.

Imagine, if you will, in the opening scene to Captain Marvel’s origin story, Billy and Mary are running blindly threw the night, fleeing from their Uncle, who, in a big black limousine is closing in on them (with the aid of his chauffeur) ~ and, of course, with a big switch in his hand!

An opening scene, like this, would be more exciting to see than Billy, simply standing on the street selling newspapers.

Of course, Billy Batson’s adventure into the world of magic always begins with that Mysterious Man in Black. And, in this particular situation, the Man in Black ~ who resembles Billy’s and Mary’s late father ~ Could play a more useful role (than a simple guide) by coming to their rescue, by leading them down into the old subway to the old Wizard.

Finally, if you choose to have Mary present with Billy during the origin story of Captain Marvel, it would be interesting to see her reaction as she witnessed her big brother's initiation to the powers of the gods.

Of course, we know that she later discovers that she too has the powers, but in Billy’s origin story, I believe it would be more fun it she is just a bewildered witness to an extraordinary event.
